Biography
Bostjan Cesar joined Albion in August 2007 on a season-long loan deal
with a view to a permanent move from French side Marseille. The 6ft
3" Slovenian international was described by Albion boss Tony Mowbray
as a "defenders defender" with "natural defensive abilities".
Cesar made his name after joining Dinamo Zagreb in 2000 and went on
to make over 50 appearances scoring once in his 5 years at the club,
he had loan spells with both Croatia Sesvete and Olimpija Ljublana
during that time before moving to French side Marseille in 2005,
after establishing himself in the side he suffered a fractured skull
during a game in February 2006 and failed to regain his place
afterwards prompting Albion to move for him after watching him a
number of times.
Bostjan has played 24 times for Slovenia to date scoring two goals,
the first in 2004 in a 1-0 win over Italy and the second in a 2-4
defeat to Belarus in 2006.
