Biography "Quick, good technique and a good
goals record", that's how Sherjill was described by Tony
Mowbray after signing for Albion on loan from AGOVV
Apeldoorn in January 2007, a deal which could become
permanent if the player impresses at The Hawthorns with
a fee likely to be around the £500,000 mark.
MacDonald began his career in his homeland at the famed
Ajax Football Academy before joining FC Eindhoven, from
there he moved to the Belgian side Anderlecht signing a
5 year deal in 2001 and a year later scored the goal
against Staebek which took Anderlecht through to the 2nd
round of the UEFA Cup. In the summer of 2004 he had a
short trial at Bolton Wanderers, but then joined Dutch
side Hercles Almelo on a one year loan and then the
following season moved to German side Hamburger SV again
on a year long loan.
He left Belgium to return again to his homeland in May
2006 joining 2nd Division side AGOVV Apeldoorn where his
goalscoring exploits were recognised with a call up to
the Dutch U21 side making his debut in November 2006
against England (a side which included his future team
mate Curtis Davies). |
