Biography
Ishmael Miller nicknamed 'The Moston Menace' joined Albion in August
2007 on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent transfer from
Manchester City and endeared himself to the Albion faithful within
minutes of his arrival on the pitch, scoring a fantastic solo run and
finish on his debut as a substitute against Preston North End. A big,
powerful and very quick striker who joined Albion in his quest for
first team football.
Miller joined Manchester City as a professional in 2005 after coming
through the clubs junior ranks. Originally an attacking midfielder it
was after his switch to a more forward role that his career took off.
After impressing in the clubs reserves he made his Premiership debut
as a substitute against Wigan Athletic in March 2006. No further
first team appearances came that season, a season which saw him
finish top goalscorer for City's reserves. The following pre-season
of the 2006-07 season saw Ishmael figure on a regular basis for the
first XI including a goal against Wrexham. After regular substitute
appearances at the beginning of the season, his first start for City
came in September 2006 in a 2-0 win over West Ham United. In total at
City he made 3 starts and 17 sub appearances without scoring a goal
before his Hawthorns move.
