WestBrom.com : Matchday Guide : Public Transport

Getting to The Hawthorns using public transport could not be easier, below we list the three main possible options.

BY RAIL

The Hawthorns
The Hawthorns railway station is only a five minute walk away from the ground.

The Hawthorns Station is part of the regions Centro network. Trains regularly run from Birmingham Snow Hill Station. If you have arrived at Birmingham New Street Station then Snow Hill Station is a five to ten minute walk away.

At the time of writing, trains run six times an hour and approximately takes eight minutes to reach The Hawthorns. A cheap day return costs £1.50.

For more information please visit the Centro website.

Smethwick Rolfe Street
Smethwick Rolfe Street Station is on the mainline network between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton. It is a 10-15 minute walk to The Hawthorns from Rolfe Street Station.

At the time of writing, trains run 3 times an hour and takes approximately 9 minutes to reach Rolfe Street from Birmingham New Street. A cheap day return costs £1.30.

For more information please visit the Central Trains website.

Directions: Upon leaving the station turn right and take the next left into North Western Road. Follow the road round which now become Brasshouse Lane. Continue along this road and straight on at the crossroads which then becomes Halfords Lane. The Hawthorns will soon appear ahead of you.

BY METRO

The Hawthorns
The Hawthorns metro station is adjacent to the train line platforms.

Trams run to and from Birmingham Snow Hill Station and Wolverhampton St Georges.

If you are travelling from Birmingham Snow Hill Station, trams run every 12 minutes and takes approximately 9 minutes to reach The Hawthorns.

A day return costs £2.70 for Adults, and £1.35 for 5-15 year olds.

For more information please visit the Metro website.

BY BUS

The number 74, 79 and 450 all stop on the Birmingham Road.

The 74 runs between Birmingham and Dudley, via West Bromwich. Buses depart from Bull Street Birmingham and takes approximately half an hour to reach The Hawthorns. If you are coming from West Bromwich buses depart from the bus station, and takes approximately 6 minutes to reach The Hawthorns. Please bare in mind journeys will take longer on matchday's due to matchday traffic.

The 79, as above but buses run between Birmingham and Wolverhampton, via West Bromwich.

The 450 runs between Bearwood and West Bromwich every 20 minutes. Buses normally go up Halfords Lane and turn left onto the Birmingham Road, but on matchday's part of Halford's Lane is closed approximately an hour and a half before kick-off, thus meaning the service is re-routed down Dartmouth Road, so if you are coming from Bearwood it is advised to get off at Brasshouse Lane Community Centre (before the bus turns down Dartmouth Road) and walk the rest of the way (carry straight on, over the crossroads and the ground will appear ahead of you). If you are coming from West Bromwich, then either the 74 or 79 would be the best option.

Bus fare's cost £1.20 adults and 60p for 5-15 year olds each way. For timetable information please visit the Travel West Midlands website.
