Lesson's from Derby?

Billy Davies (the clown :D) has just been on Sky Sports News saying that what got Derby up last season was the players and loyalty of the fans. The fans stuck by them despite the results and made home games like a fortress and basically pissed off everyone they played - as we found at Wembley.

So why don’t we realise that we lost ONE away game against a team that are tough to beat at home cos they kick you off the park, with a new team who have only been together 2 weeks. No winging just support them. It’s a marathon not a sprint and I’d rather be getting it right in May than August!!!

Let’s have a bit of blind faith just for a few weeks, no matter the result. The bickering must stop, e.g. who's the best stand, because at the moment quite frankly you're both crap!!! Lay off the player’s, give Chaplow, Pele, the Hoff and the Duke a chance. If they are still shite in November then give them an earful. Critics of Pele and the Hoff today are crazy, they've only been in the place two minutes, don’t you remember your first proper day at work, give them a break.

And so some then turn on the manager. Why? Because he's not Megson OR because he’s not Robson. Well I say thank god for that. TM will get it right, he just needs time this season to gel the team. And before you start on he's had time - not with these players he hasn't. He can be naive in defence and I believe he is aware of that. He is the type of bloke who will learn from yesterday and make changes, but if he's not doing the job by November/December he will have to go and be replaced before the window. There is no point talking about him going now, it’s his team and for the next few months he will have to sink or swim because of them. Surely he deserves the benefit of the doubt, at least until he proves he's not capable to do the job.

Davies, Robbo… what’s the point of playing people who don't want to be here. How hard do you work in a relationship that you don't want to be in anymore??? Exactly - so what’s the point of playing Davies. Robbo is different. It might well be time to kiss and make up, but he’s got a lot of work to do... however I still think Wigan will take a gamble on him. In any case good luck to them both, they're not Albion fans and their careers, especially in Robbo’s case won’t last for ever, so in some ways you can't blame them for wanting to make money.

So let’s get behind the team, at least for the meantime. Take yesterday on the chin and be the twelfth man, home and away in the stands roaring the boys on.
