Oh my days did you see this?

I think the guy should be banned and can't believe the FA haven't intervened on this.

He had a go at Craig Fagan once then just absolutely whalloped him. I know Newcastle are in crisis, but that was inexcusable.

Imagine if it was Robbo? they'd throw the book at him I reckon. We'd never hear the last of it.

Disgraceful.

Fagan got a broken leg due to that challenge, I hope they throw the book at Guthrie, been taking lessons from Barton no doubt.

I doubt you would be laughing if you were on the recieving end and im sure Fagan isn't laughing given it broke his leg.

He hasn't broke his leg surely? He was on his feet chasing Guthrie after the challenge!

I tried to "run off" a broken leg. It got as far as my boot making contact with the ground before collapsing in agony.

Well that makes it even worse.

I would sue him him if I was Fagan. The FA have to do something now surely!

Must serve an extended ban at least. Maybe lifetime, it was that bad.

Are you suing him for intent or the outcome? It's impossible to prove he went in with the intention of breaking his leg. If you were able to sue on the basis of the outcome then imagine how many players would be getting sued? Martin Taylor was last years high profile player who broke an opposing players leg, yet it was accidental. Intent not there, outcome was.

Had Guthrie gone in intending to break Fagans leg, yet failed... do you still have grounds to sue?

Taff, when you see it, there is no way Guthrie can say he didn't intend to do damage.

Fair do's. So what happens if no damage occurs? Sue him for intent?

It's a huge can of worms.

At the end of the day, however long Fagan is out for Hull City will be paying him £X000(0) a week. So he's going to be no worse off - Apperance / Goal bonuses pending. Unless when he comes back he's half the player.

Like I say... Can of worms.

Are you trying to say Taff that if you cause a serious injury to someone as the result of a car accident then as long as you didn't intend to cause that injury or even intend to have the accident then they shouldn't receive any compensation for lost earnings or out of pocket expenses?

Or on a more relevant note, a professional workman drops a tool from his belt while up a ladder in the performance of his duties. The tool causes an injury be it to a colleague or a member of the general public but the man didn't intend to injure anyone so no case to answer?

His employer should have insurance to cover him during the performance of his duties.  If he was found to be negligent then he becomes personally liable. If these players choose to make these 'challenges' then they have to take responsibility for the outcome whether they intend it or not!

Well the intent was there, he tried to hurt him and did. You can't even call it a tackle, it was a straight out assault.

We'll have to wait and see how big a deal the press/media make of it but for me it was worse than what Martin Taylor did and look how he was treated.

Agree with that, difference is though, this was only a Hull player not an Arsenal one so no-one in the media gives a toss.
